Hey y’all! I’m Jenny, the owner of Okefenokee & Satilla Expeditions LLC, professional Naturalist, Guide, and lover of wild places. I was born and raised near the Satilla, on the northern side of Okefenokee Swamp, in the little town of Waresboro, Georgia. My ancestors were the Wiregrass Pioneers who settled around the Satilla and the Okefenokee in the early to mid 1800s. My parents were both local schoolteachers and they instilled in me a love of the Great Outdoors. I studied Biology at Waycross College, Wildlife Management at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, and worked for years as a Naturalist with the Georgia DNR at Laura S. Walker State Park and Skidaway Island State Park.

I was a boat inspector in Southern California, a camp counselor in the redwoods of Northern California, and have spent years introducing thousands of people to the beauty and mystery of Okefenokee Swamp as a Naturalist and Wilderness Guide. My passion is sharing the amazing ecology and history of these places with my guests. Please contact us to learn more about touring the Okefenokee Swamp or the Satilla River with a local who wants to share the beauty and peace of these amazing places with you, or getting the rentals and shuttle that you need to explore it on your own.
